Established in 2016, Certa has become the leader in property inspections in Central Alberta servicing as far north as La Crete, south to Calgary, west to Nordegg, and even performing inspections in Saskatchewan!
Certa strives to provide exemplary inspection services both for residential and commercial properties for the thousands of clients we have earned over the years. Certa offers services including residential and commercial building inspections for real estate transactions, mold and asbestos testing, sewer camera inspections, Level 1 WETT inspections, odour removal services using ozonation, and thermal imaging consultations.
Our team is certified through multiple training bodies such as the Canadian Institute of Home Inspectors (home inspector training), Mold / Asbestos training (IAC2), PACP (Pipeline Assessment Certification Program), WETT Inc., Ozone Canada, and Infrared Certified (InterNACHI).
Certa believes that corporate social responsibility is paramount to healthy communities and continues being a leader in local community involvement. About Alex
As the founder of Certa, Alex continues to inspect regularly with the goal of improving the home inspections industry in Central Alberta, the province of Alberta, and Canada. Alex has been on the board of directors at one of the largest home inspection associations in Alberta, AlbertaACHI, since starting Certa and currently serves as the Director of Education training new and active home inspectors in Alberta. Alex is also the Director of Education with the Canadian Institute of Home Inspectors; one of the premier home inspector training programs in Canada.
About Tanner
As a member of the Certa Inspections team, Tanner is a fully licensed property inspector that is currently managing the Central Alberta area. With a background in home restoration and renovations, Tanner made the move to property inspections and has been trained through the Canadian Institute of Home Inspectors.
Tanner is an active member of InterNachi, AlbertaACHI and WETT Inc. and strives to improve his knowledge through ongoing continuing education. With an extensive amount of additional training, Tanner offers both home and commercial inspections, mold testing / air sampling, ozonation odour removal, wood burning appliance inspections (WETT), thermal imaging consultations, sewer camera inspections, asbestos testing, and drone imaging services.
About Jeff
Jeff Fleming is a licensed Home Inspector and Civil Engineering Technologist. He brings to Certa a unique background that offers knowledge and experience in a wide range of areas associated with the industry. Jeff grew up in central Ontario in an area just north of Barrie where he developed his skills working in various industries associated with residential construction. Over the years Jeff noticed a lot of inconsistencies in the quality construction from one site to the next. “It may have been my intensive need for perfection or maybe just my inability to turn a blind eye,” (says Jeff), but it was this observation that sparked a passion.
Jeff served in the Military with The Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry, serving a Tour in Afghanistan in 2006. After returning to Canada, Jeff left the military and briefly worked in Alberta’s Oilfields. This quickly changed when the price of oil dropped causing Jeff to return to Ontario and take work in Ontario’s ever-booming housing industry. During this time, he furthered his education by taking a 3-year Civil Engineering Technologist program through Georgian College. After completing this program, Jeff then went on to focus his expertise in Home Inspections through completing the Canadian Institute of Home Inspectors training program.
“I first wanted to get educated on the science and engineering aspects of these systems before I felt I could confidently identify and educate others. Most people simply do not have the knowledge or the time to properly inspect the vast components that make up a home”.
